Changing Seasons--Changing Prices

Grow Your Own is going through some changes. One half of the organization has been forced to leave the area to find work. I don't quite feel up to building gardens all by myself, or pressuring my kid brother into working for free. My family is also expanding by one in about three weeks, if you believe in due dates.

I'm not willing to let the dream die!

The idea of making money building gardens was always secondary to the idea that building gardens was just a good thing. So, while I may not have the time this spring to single-handedly install a bunch of gardens with my infant strapped to my back, I still want to help you grow your own vegetables.

Thus, if you want a garden I will consult with you for free. That's right free! I have all the information you need to get started including but not limited to, where to locally find the supplies you need, how to prepare your soil, what and where to plant in your new garden, and anything else you may need.

If you bought a garden last year, and read this blog. You are a special person, and appreciated. Don't feel slighted. We worked with a very small mark-up, so individuals taking advantage of Grow Your Own's new business model will probably spend 150$ or so less than you did, and they will do a lot of shoveling.

Now though, anyone can have a garden of any size. If advice or help is needed, I'll be a phone call or email away, and I'll even do on-site consultation locally. If I've gotta drive more than fifteen minutes, we can work out a vegetable barter system.

I'm hopeful that this approach will flood the Outer Banks with vegetable gardens. So, as spring approaches, tell everyone you know that sustainable, natural salads are just an email away.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Marc
